and Maximus Estrada's Tasting Event Benefiting GALT

If you drove past the Estrada's house on the evening of August 14, 2004 and wondered why so many cars were parked all around the neighborhood, it was because Jhon and Eddie Estrada and greyhounds, Cleo and Max, were hosting the GALT Wine Tasting.
This wasn't just a wine tasting - it was a beer and tequila tasting also - and not just any beer and tequila but imported and boutique specialties.
Jhon was the hostess with the mostess and Eddie manned the beer station. There were two wine stations and one tequila station. In each room, in addition to tasting, guests were able eat delicious snacks and to bid on silent auction items.
Cleo and Max were decked out in their best finery to greet all the guests.
A super basket full of all kinds of dog and wine goodies was awarded to the person who guessed the number of Jordan almonds in a jar. The lucky winner was Ed Keating.
As a special treat (and for a small donation), Denise Allen made wine charms for each guest who wanted one. Door prizes (wine bags and cloths made by Denise Allen) were awarded throughout the evening.
GALT is greytful for all of the wine, auction items and other donations that were contributed to the event, and especially to Jhon and Eddie Estrada, who opened their home and their hearts once again to help GALT raise money for its greyhounds. This was the second time the Estrada's have hosted a wine tasting. They outdid themselves this time, and we hope it won't be the last.
The purpose of the event was to make money for GALT and the Estrada's certainly succeeded in that regard - the event raised $5,000.00 to help GALT further its mission. THANK ROOOOOOOOOOO to all of the Estrada's - Eddie, Jhon, Max and Cleo!!!!
Also, thanks to everyone who sold tickets and to the GALT volunteers who helped at the event - Denise Allen, Kristin Fields, Kent and Sara Ramadan, and John Rocha. Sincere thanks to Dana, Dr. Jhon's assistant, for her support.
There was something for everyone, and everyone had a wonderful time visiting, eating, bidding and of course, tasting - truly an evening and event to remember!
