Ken Lamoreaux
May 20, 1938 - March 29, 2005
A hero to the greyhounds that came into his life.
Godspeed Ken - we know those at the Rainbow Bridge are celebrating your arrival.

It is with a very sad heart that we let you know Ken Lamoreaux passed away on March 29, 2005.

Many of you didn't have the pleasure of meeting Ken – he and Stephanie have been involved with GALT for almost 4 years. Because of his health, their support recently has all been behind the scenes.

We all still remember the day they came to Bass Pro Shop to see Jig (GALT dog #15) and submitted an application for him. The Lamoreauxs proceeded to become very involved with GALT over the next years.

Stephanie was GALT's first Volunteer Coordinator, and resigned because of her job advancement and responsibilities. Ken and Stephanie had Westies, Monti and Sassy, before greyhounds. Jig lived with Sassy for several years before she went to the Rainbow Bridge.

In addition to the Volunteer position, both Stephanie and Ken fostered many greyhounds, some of them being the special needs and older greys that came into GALT, giving them the love they deserved until they found their forever home. Some of the greyhounds they fostered are Mandy, C.J., Marlow, Kitty, Horse, Jake, Fancy, Mercy, Lucy and Pye, trying so hard to help him get well, but it was not meant to be.

They adopted Lucy and Benny, and provided Mercy’s forever home. Ken was the one who understood Mercy the best up until the end. We know tonight Ken is with those who have gone before him - family, friends, and his beloved canines. Please keep Stephanie, Jig and Benny in your thoughts and prayers - these next days, weeks and months will be so difficult for all of them.
