OUR MISSION | DIRECTORS & OFFICERS | PRESS RELEASES A LOSS TO THE TEXAS GREYHOUND COMMUNITY
It is with great sorrow that GALT announces the sudden death of Gary Alexander on Friday, February 25, 2005. As many of you know, Gary and his wife Lynn have operated the A to Z Kennels in LaMarque, TX for many years. AZ greyhounds have their own distinct personalities, due to the Alexanders socialization, love and care of their racing greyhounds. When GALT was first launched, the founding members were invited to go to the Alexanders home and farm to tour and meet Gary and Lynn. That was the beginning of a special friendship that has grown over the years and has led many greyhounds to their forever homes. Gary was
active in the Texas
Greyhound Association (TGA) where he served as board member and
representative for District V, working hard and being a spokesman for
all greyhounds and their welfare. MEMORIAL BOOK GALT would like to send a memorial book to Lynn in Gary's memory from all the owners of their greyhounds. If you would like to participate, please send a picture of your AZ greyhound, along with a note to Lynn to info@greyhoundadoptiontx.org by March 15. Many of you with AZ greys have over the years already corresponded with Lynn and Gary about their wonderful greys. Most of the Alexander dogs have the letters "AZ" in front of their racing names, and are the following:
TRIBUTE Lynn Alexander has asked the TGA to set up a memorial foundation for the promotion of adoption of Texas Retired Racing Greyhounds in Gary's Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to this new memorial foundation in Gary's memory. If everyone who enjoys the love an Alexander dog just sent a few dollars, a big difference could be made in the adoption of the Texas Retired Racing Greyhound. Be sure to tag your check "Gary Alexander Memorial Foundation." Donations should be sent to:
