Paco Paco

Paco, aka Pumpkin Paco, is a handsome 5-year-old red brindle male, born February 16, 2000. Paco's sire is Santa Fe Rufus and his dam is Lidia Pumpkin, making his grand sire Molotov. His racing record indicates 153 races, starting October 16, 2001, at Bluffs Run in Iowa, moving on to Dubuque where he was the Winner of the Iowa Bred Consolation in 2002, and finishing his career on March 13, 2005 at Valley Race Park in Harlingen. Paco is certainly ready for retirement, and his forever couch. Paco is small animal and cat tolerant.

Paco is a magnificent retired athlete. His stance and gate have the power, pride and grace of a thoroughbred. He still enjoys a good run around the yard, but is a mellow fellow around the house for the most part. OK...he’s very happy when his foster mom gets home and entertains himself by tossing the soft squeaky toys in the air and bounding around after them. Don’t let his 5 years of age fool you into thinking he’s “older.” He seems to know that he can finally enjoy retirement with playfulness. He loves barking at squirrels, but is quite tolerant of cats. In fact, he’s been known to leave the cat alone in the backyard. He took awhile to adjust to a doggie door, but uses it regularly now. His housetraining is excellent and he lets you know when he needs to go out. Although he’s more of a loner than most greyhounds and prefers sleeping on a carpet instead of a dog bed, Paco loves people and affection. Come meet this handsome boy and let him lean his way into your heart!
