North Texas Irish Festival
March 7 and 8, 2008
As in many prior years, GALT participated in the North Texas Irish Festival at Fair Park in Dallas on March 7 and 8, 2009. This year's festival was in a different location and GALT went all out to decorate its booth. The time spent decorating paid off since GALT won Third Place for a cultural display booth. Congratulations to Susie McQuade and Barbara Christian!
The party atmosphere extended to the people but not always the dogs. Shy Kansas and Mary only wanted to lie on their blankets and wait until it was time to go home. On the other hand, Tackle, Liberty, Opal and Tyme were eager to greet anyone who wanted to give them a pet. Some Greyhounds were in costume (the Estrada's pack) and all joined in the spirit of the festival and at least wore something green.
Thanks for all the volunteers for bringing your fosters and picking up kennel dogs so that so many Greyhounds had the opportunity to be shown.
