Dallas Boat Show

January 29 & 30, 2005
February 5 & 6, 2005

The Dallas Boat Show came and went – again. The Winter Boat Show is larger than the summer show and thousands of people got to pet GALT's greyhounds. For most of the greyhounds, that's greyhound heaven. Even Sonny attended the show and schmoozed with the crowd – although a little tentatively.

The two extremes, Thor, GALT's largest boy, and Fran, the puppy, were big hits. Thor surprised everyone by showing how he loves to sit. It was a lucky weekend for some of GALT's available greys – Nash and Dafney found their forever homes. Roger showed off his brindle tail (in contrast to his fawn body). George and Stanley made their first appearance as GALT dogs. Someone always has to bring a catfish (from the kid's fishing tank) to the GALT booth to see how the dogs will react. Most just sniffed and some were not interested at all – not one tried to take a bite.

As always, GALT is indebted to its volunteers for making both weekends a success. Two full days two weekends in a row is a lot of "volunteering." GALT appreciates the efforts of Amy Thompson, Joe and Mary Hoiles, Melody McLaughlin, Nancy Colwell, Dawn McMullen, Lisa Bengelsdorf, Pam Caplin, Ann Marie Cariotis, Jonna Mayes, Darvin Schmidt, Carol Sahlfeld, Ingrid Kjelstrup, John Rocha, Kent and Sara Ramadan (with first-time foster Torri), Joann and Scott Young, Kristin Fields, John Hudson, David and Cheryl McMillan, Lili HIldreth, Joanne Smith, Bob Ekert, David Cole, Abbe Collins, Kris Schuster, Rachel Fant, Cheryl Stone, Suzanne Cody, Chris Robin, Suzanne Burke, Susie McQuade and Suzanne Griggs.

We'll see you again in July.
