Maudie

Maudie, aka CTW Legally Wed, is a 1½-year-old fawn brindle female born April 13, 2007. Her sire is CTW Legendary, making her grand sire the famous Molotox, and her dam is CTW Don’t Forget, making her grand sire the famous Irish-bred Fortress. As you can see, Maudie has striking coloring and markings – she is fawn with black and a black face.
Maudie suffered a central tarsal bone fracture of the right rear leg. Her surgery for repair was performed on November 21, 2008, by Dr. Doug Lange of the Dallas Surgery Center. At this time, it is expected Maudie will have a minimum of 7-9 weeks of recovery, at the best, with bandage changes every 7-9 days.
Maudie suffered her injury while schooling at Valley Race Park in Harlingen, TX, on November 14. The track has not even opened yet (that is November 28, 2008) and, like last year, GALT is already receiving broken legs. GALT is working with the Texas Racing Commission and the Texas Greyhound Association, as well as many of the kennels at VRP, to insure the track surface is safe for racing. Last year GALT received 17 injuries from VRP, for a total of over $35,000 in the leg repairs only.
It is not known at this time if Maudie is small animal or cat tolerant.

Maudie has been getting bandage changes every 7 days, and Dr. Lange says she is healing on schedule.
