Ellie

Ellie is an approximately 2 year old white and fawn female found as a stray. Ellie, like Ellis was turned into the Ellis County SPCA in Waxahachie, and it is amazing how much they look alike. Ellie’s condition upon arrival indicates she had puppies very recently. She is heartworm positive, positive to Ehrlichia at a high titer, and carries a heavy intestinal parasite burden. Treatment for the parasites was started immediately, but the heartworm and Ehrlichia treatments will have to be delayed until her condition stabilizes. Ellie is a shy girl and is acclimating very well to her foster household. It is not known at this time if Ellie is small animal or cat tolerant.

Ellie received her two injections for treatment of heartworms on 11/10 and 11/11. She has tolerated the treatments okay, and she is being kept very quiet in her foster home for the next 60 days. Ellie is scheduled to be retested on approximately January 12, 2009.

10/17/08
Ellie received her second injection for Ehrlichia on 9/26. Her first treatment for heartworms was administered on October 8, and so far Ellie is tolerating the procedure. Her foster mom is keeping her very quiet for the next 4 weeks.

Ellie received her first injection for Ehrlichia on 9/12. She has been on medication also. It is planned for her to start her heartworm treatment within the next two weeks.
