ADOPTED TO HER FOREVER HOME!

Update: 11/08/07

Angie, aka RW's Angel Eyes, is a beautiful 4-year-old red fawn female, born January 14, 2003. Her dam is Coldwater Malou, making her grand sire Wigwam Wag, and her sire is Rooster Ranger. Angie was picked up as a stray by the Waco Animal Shelter, and GALT was contacted by the TGA to take her into the GALT family. Her racing career consists of 17 races, starting at Palm Beach on November 26, 2004, and ending at the track in Mobile, AL on January 30, 2006. Her whereabouts from then to now are unknown. Angie is positive to two tick-borne diseases, Ehrlichia Canis and Babesia Canis. Dr. Jeff Ellis of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital has started her treatment, and it will be a minimum of two months of medication and therapy. Angie is not cat tolerant.

See Greyhound-Data.com for pedigree.

The special medical treatment cost needed by Angie is why the Miss Mesa Fund was established. If you would like to help with Angie's care, please take a moment to make a donation to the fund. You can use a credit card, check or PayPal by making the donation through the GALT GreytStore. You can also write a check (Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, P.O. Box 680, Addison, TX 75001) and note Miss Mesa Fund/Angie on your check.

Alternately, you can make a donation using PayPal by clicking on the

Update 8/6/07
Angie, in addition to having Ehrlichia and Babesia, has developed some skin issues, which are thought to be allergy related. She is being evaluated at this time by a dermatologist in Austin and is on a special diet. Angie's foster home is making every effort to determine what can be causing this problem.

Update 11/09/07
Angie was retested and her treatment for the Ehrlicia and Babesia is a success! Angie’s skin issues are also clearing up! But the best news of all is that Angie is being adopted by her foster mom and dad! So who is the luckiest – Angie or her new mom and dad? Congratulations!
